About Christopher Geier

Chris Geier is experienced in sports medicine, this specialty makes him a valuable member of the Sports Medicine Center here at OrthoConnecticut. Chris is currently the team physician assistant at both Western Connecticut State University and Newtown High School. He is often a guest lecturer for the physician assistant program at Stony Brook University, his alma mater.

In the past, Chris Geier had the privilege to be an athletic trainer for the United States Olympic Program, assisting in the rehabilitation and treatment of the Olympic athletes for both volleyball and bobsledding. He has been the director of sports medicine education at a physical therapy practice as well as organized injury prevention programs at local high schools. He also co-founded the Western Connecticut Sports Medicine Society, which provides education for local trainers and physical therapists.

While getting his B.S. in Physical Education at the University of Delaware, Chris played soccer and to this day stays involved in the sport by coaching in New Milford, so he knows the importance of a quick and total recovery.
