Dr. Forlizzi is a highly skilled orthopedic sports medicine specialist with expertise in shoulder, knee, hip, and ankle procedures. She is committed to providing each and every one of her patients with pain relief and improved quality of life.
After her undergraduate studies at Colby College, Dr. Forlizzi returned to New Jersey to complete medical school and an orthopedic surgery residency at Rutgers-Robert Wood Johnson. While in residency, she helped care for the athletes at Rutgers University, including the football and basketball programs, during their transition into the Big Ten Conference. She also served as a team physician for local high schools in New Jersey.
Dr. Forlizzi specializes in treating patients of all ages with sports-related injuries and is specifically interested in arthroscopic and reconstructive surgery of the shoulder, hip, and knee. She also has specialized expertise in proximal hamstring tendon ruptures, which is predominantly an injury suffered by water skiers.
Dr. Forlizzi is a New Jersey native and lifelong athlete. At Colby College, she was a two-year captain of the women’s basketball team, a 1,000-point scorer, and helped lead the team to two consecutive NCAA tournament appearances. She was also a member of the NESCAC champion women’s lacrosse team.
