Mad Dash photo 2014On Saturday, June 7th participants of all ages and ability levels will run, jump, crawl, carry and climb their way through NYA and Newtown Parks & Recreation’s Mad Dash Adventure Race in Newtown, CT. The third annual adventure race includes physical challenges, running and skilled events. Individuals and teams can choose one of two courses for the competition, a 1.7-mile loop for beginners and families as well or a 4.3-mile advanced course, which will test even the most seasoned athletes.

Online registration closes on Friday, June 6th at 12:00 pm. The event will take place at Newtown Municipal Center, 4 Primrose Street.

Look for foot and ankle surgeon and specialist, Dr. Randolph Sealey, a member of the Danbury Orthopedics team who will be on site and happy to answer any and all of your orthopedic questions.

About Dr. Sealey
Dr. Randolph Sealey is the only fellowship-trained orthopedic foot and ankle subspecialist in the greater Danbury area. He acquired his surgical expertise during his fellowship at the world-renowned Institute for Foot and Ankle Reconstruction at Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland. In 2008, he received the prestigious Roger A. Mann Award, the highest clinical research honor given by the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society. He has become a major referral resource for foot and ankle trauma ranging from simple to complex. A Newtown resident, Dr. Sealey leads the The Foot & Ankle Center at Danbury Orthopedics.

10-1-13HipFlyer.pdfJoin our physicians Dr. Deveney, Dr. Sealey, Dr. Henshaw and Dr. Dunleavy  for an informative presentation on the musculoskeletal system, and particular dysfuntions  at the hip and ankle joints.  "The Hip Bone is Connected to the Ankle Bone" will take place on October 24th from 4:15-8:00 pm at Creasy Auditorium at Danbury Hospital.

The panel will review:

  • alternative treatments to joint replacement
  • indications for Total Ankle Replacement (TAR)
  • utilization of arthroscopy in treating ankle fractures
  • the evolution of Hip Replacement Surgery
  • the differential diagnosis of low back pain versus hip arthritis
  • indications for hip arthroscopy versus open hip surgery

The Western Connecticut Sports Medicine Society will host a presentation by Danbury Orthopedics Foot & Ankle Specialist, Dr. Randolph Sealey, on the topic of Foot & Ankle Sports Injuries on March 28th at 7:00 pm.  The event will take place at the offices of The Sports Medicine Center at Danbury Orthoepdics at 73 Sandpit Road in Danbury. Foot and ankle injuries are a major cause of time lost on the court or playing field for the athlete today.  Dr. Sealey will review the evaluation and treatment of some of the most common foot and ankle sports injuries affecting athletes.

Light refreshments will be served, and medical professionals will receive free CEUs for attending.

Find out what's new in the world of knee and hip replacements on Tuesday, January 29th, 12-1:30 pm at River Glen Health Care Center in Southbury, CT.  Dr. Robert Deveney will present a lecture "What's New in Joint Replacement" and answer questions from attendees.  Dr. Deveney is a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon with expertise in adult hip and knee surgery.  His special interests include minimally invasive joint replacement and arthroscopic surgery.
